A DREAM shot by Yelverton Bowling Club skip Joyce Neno enabled her rink to beat Civil Service (Blues) in the ladies? first division league match at home.

With her last wood on the last end Joyce moved the jack six feet from a potential four down to holding three, ensuring her rink won by five shots and so secured valuable points for newly promoted Yelverton ladies.

However, the ladies? team lost narrowly by two points when skip Joan Smith on the adjoining rink just could not secure the necessary points on the last end to secure victory.

Yelverton men?s team enjoyed a comfortable victory away to Electra in the County Trophy competition, winning by 75-60 points.

The opposition were never allowed to settle as Yelverton moved increasingly ahead on three rinks, only struggling on the rink skipped by Mike Brain, who, in a tight match, came back from five points adrift to draw.
