A NEW officer has joined Callington Police Station to cover the Calstock and Gunnislake areas.

Neighbourhood beat manager Joy Stoppard is replacing PC Sarah Westcott, who has moved to another post in Devon.

PC Stoppard is returning to work after having her second son and has recently moved to the area.

She joined the force eleven years ago and has worked in North Devon and Torbay, more recently as neighbourhood beat manager for Teignmouth.

The officer is planning to hold surgeries in the Calstock parish to get to know any problems and issues in the area.
