BRITISH Triathlon South West held a presentation and academy training day at Kelly College on Sunday.
Athletes aged between 11 and 16 travelled from all over the South West to receive their awards for taking part in the Brooks Children's South West Series.
Jordan Channon (age 11), a pupil at Kelly College received his shield, certificate and Brooks running shoes for coming first in the Tristar 2 (age 11-12 group). He had to take part in three out of four races in the series during the season. He successfully won a duathlon (run, bike, run) at Castle Coombe race track and also came first in the two triathlons (swim, bike, run) that he entered in Gloucester and Parc Bryn Bach in Wales.
Jordan completed his season by representing the South West in the final held in Wales where he finish fourth.
After the presentation the athletes rode their bikes onto on the moors where they were given expert advice by national mountain bike champion Maddie Horton. This was followed by a run and then a swim session at Kelly taken by triathletes Harry Wiltshire, Andy Bullock and Will Newton.
