BUCKLAND Monachorum Cricket Club will open their pitch from Sunday to young cricketers between the ages of five and 11, under the supervision of the trained staff — all of whom are volunteers from the BMCC adult team.
Youth development officer Jonathan Talbott said: 'Our goal has very much been to create a training program that puts inclusivity, social interaction and respect for our local community first. This is a family club and everyone who takes part will benefit from the same high level of development and training. Group coaching sessions will be assessed and all children participating will have the opportunity to achieve a bronze, silver or gold level based on the Asda Kwik Cricket skill awards scheme.'
To join the club there is an annual membership of £20, weekly training sessions are £1 per session. Child members will have access to all facilities and supervised training sessions, receive a personalised BMCC tee-shirt and be able to participate in matches and social events.
* Anyone interested in the training sessions call Jonathan Talbott on 01822 855685 or go along for a free taster session on Sunday between 10.30am and 12 noon.
