A TAVISTOCK bar recently had an unexpected visit from a Grammy-nominated artist. Joe Sun, called ?the best singer to hit Nashville in 20 years? by Johnny Cash, played an impromptu music gig at a packed-out Jack Chams last week. Glen Duff, owner of the lounge bar, met Joe Sun outside Donella?s Coffee Shop and started talking to him about music and how Jack Chams has live bands every Thursday night. ?He said to me if I could get the speakers and equipment then he would play for us on Tuesday night. I didn?t really know who he was until I looked up his name on the internet and saw what he has done,? said Glen. Joe Sun has released 14 albums, toured in the US and Europe, featured in many television shows, acted in two Hollywood films, and produced two Grammy-nominated records. At the time of the gig Joe Sun was on a three-day break from a UK tour from Monday to Wednesday. ?It was fantastic.? said Glen: ?We were very busy by 8pm. I think people in the bar were calling their friends and telling them to come down. ?The night was perfect, everyone had a really good time. I would like to say thank you to Joe. What a night!?
