South Molton U14s 15 Tavistock U14s 36 TAVISTOCK attacked from the start. Good driving runs from the forwards resulted in prop Joe Hair diving over for the opening score. From the restart Tavistock attacked again with forwards and backs linking well. Continuity of play in which forwards Dan Oner and Robin Jones were prominent pressed South Molton back and led to a second try when prop George Harold was driven over. With Tavistock forwards in control Dan Oner scored, charging over from a tapped penalty. However, South Molton hit back immediately and from a scrum ran into score a good try. Half-time score 5-15. The second half began well for Tavistock. From loose play, centre Tom Thursby picked up and scored near the posts, Josh Leeson converting. Robin Jones added a fifth try when he linked with the backs and ran in under the posts. Leeson again converted. Tavistock came off the boil and allowed South Molton back into the game. Tavistock began to wilt under the pressure and tired play, resulting in conceded penalties and missed tackles, allowed the home team to run in two quick tries. However, Tavistock raised their game once more and in an exciting passage of play, involving forwards and backs, Tom Thursby broke through the home defence to score a fine second try, Leeson converting.
