W J CORNISH the Jewellers is being featured on Radio Devon on November 20 as part of a special feature on long-established businesses in the county.
The jewellers? shop was established in 1888 although it has been in several different premises in Fore Street before moving to the current site opposite St James Chapel in the late 1960s.
Three generations have run the business, which is the oldest in Okehampton, and present owner William Cornish says trade is booming.
?It has just grown and grown over the years. This is due to the increase in population in the town and the vast selection of food we have on offer in Okehampton now with three supermarkets,? said Mr Cornish.
He said the feature on the Judy Spiers show at 11.10am on November 20 was all good publicity for Okehampton.
Long running businesses in four other Devon towns will also be featured.
