Tavistock Jets U13s 1
Trophy Man U13s 3
BOTH sides made a bright start as Jets met the top team who played with pace and skill.
Trophy Man created most of the pressure with a succession of corners that Jets? defence, in which Taylor had an outstanding game at full back, managed to clear.
Despite the occasional move down the wings Jets failed to create clear cut chances for their forwards although they were unlucky to be one down at half-time following a penalty given for handball.
Dobson?s cross was missed by the keeper and Hammond was well placed to knock the ball into the empty net. Trophy Man bounced straight back, passing with accuracy and playing with pace.
Coulston and Richards came on as substitutes and the game continued to be well contested until Jets? defence had a momentary lapse that allowed their opponents to go into the lead.
Jets were giving away too many unnecessary free kicks, thus losing attacking advantage and putting pressure onto their own defence which hd performed well, although Torphy Man scored a third.
Man of the match: Andrew Derbyshire. Manager?s man of the match: Andrew Smurdon.
Tavistock Jets U11s 6
Saltash Youth U11s 0
AN outstanding team performance saw Jets storm to a 4-0 lead by half-time.
Adam Burbidge scored his first hat-trick for the team and set-up two other goals.
Jets? midfield of Nicholas Cribbett, Martin Hughes, Adam Dodd and Adam Burbidge soon had the Saltash defence on the back-foot.
Jack Jessop got hold of a great pass and Jets were in the lead. Jets scored three more, including a corner taken by Burbidge which went straight in.
In the second half Saltash came back for a while and Jets? defence of Reuben Grice, James Tosdevin, Luke Dunne, Ben Pridham and keeper Daniel Scott were on top of the situation.
Jets finished in fine style with goals from James McGahey and Burbidge to complete his hat-trick. Harry Gray, Alex Cater and Sean Stevens all came on in the second half and the team remained balanced.
