MID Devon Riding Club member Jennie Humphry was a member of the team which recently made the journey to Windsor Great Park to compete in the new Quest X eventing competition. Jennie Humphry who lives near Okehampton was one of the three entries from Devon and Cornwall in the field of 119 hopeful riders at the competition which took place on Wednesday, May 25. The competition took the format of a short dressage test, immediately followed by a short course of show jumps and cross-country fences. Jennie, riding her Danish warm blood mare, Regina Lyng, gave a very polished performance and was one of the 25 who qualified to go on to the next stage of the competition. During the next two days, Jennie had training sessions with the Australian international event rider Clayton Fredericks. Jennie, who trains with Michael Van Houben of Okehampton, is looking forward to putting her Windsor training into good practice at her next BE competition on June 11, at Tweseldown, and again slightly nearer to home, at Llandhydrock, on June 26.
