AMERICAN jazz star Kenny Davern has been described by critics as 'the greatest jazz clarinettist in the world today'.
His performance was so enjoyed when he came to West Devon two years ago that the Tamar Valley Jazz Association is very pleased to get him back again.
Kenny is a performer of rare quality with an indifference to passing trends and produces a deep, warm, woody sound.
He has worked with dozens of the jazz world's top performers and following his success in New York in the 60s, he then toured Europe and the rest of the world. After the release of an album with Dick Wellstood and Bobby Rosegarden in the 80s he became in great demand at clubs, concerts and festivals.
Tamar Valley Jazz Association will be presenting this outstanding performer at the Ordulph Arms on Friday January 25.
He will be supported by a trio led by guitarist Tony Marshall, with Mike Thorn on bass with the talented young drummer Sam Brown.
