STUDENTS from across the South West will make sure things go with a bang next Saturday when they stage a grand concert with a Japanese Grand Master Drummer.
School pupils from Callington to Chagford aged between 8 and 18 will converge on Exeter?s Northcott Theatre for the ?Big Bang?, a celebration of the Japanese musical art form, Taiko Drumming.
Taiko Grand Master Daihachi Oguchi has come from Japan for the event and will share his expertise with pupils who have spent the last six months studying drumming under the leadership of mid-Devon tutor Kagemusha Taiko.
The concert will include pieces devised by individual schools and a spectacular finale with all the drummers on stage.
