Mary Tavy 5
St Giles 1
ON a scorching hot day Mary Tavy at last put paid to their poor run of early starts to the season.
From the off, the home team dominated and found a perfect response to the frustration of the previous week.
James Coole, always so consistent in front of goal, bagged a double with a further goal added by the ever-present Alan Grylls.
It was at this stage that the game was rocked by the sending off of defender Ian Hunter who seemed to make the perfect last-man challenge.
With the fortunes swinging to the away team, St Giles failed to capitalise on their one-man advantage only to see their own player leave the pitch in the same way for strongly disagreeing with the match official.
The second half saw the home team press for a further advantage with Grylls claiming a second and being thwarted his deserved third several times.
Sam Pridham added another and St Giles pulled one back at the death.
After an excellent performance on a very hot day manager Lee Piper was relieved at finally putting some points on the table.
Man of the match: James Coole.
