ON your marks, get set — go! It's that time of year again, Okehampton Lions Donkey Derby and family fun day has arrived.

This year the popular community event will be host to a variety of activities, including numerous trade stalls, a bouncy castle and a family dog show.

The donkeys, which come from Hunt's Racing Donkeys of Guildford, will again be ridden by local pony club and riding school members.

All proceeds raised by the 2010 Donkey Derby go directly to support local groups, charities and organisations.

Last year groups benefitting from the event included OCRA, Okehampton ATC, Hatherleigh Primary School, Monkokehampton Community Centre, ShelterBox and Rapid UK.

This year Radio Devon presenter Ian Brass will attend to show his support.

Each programme will have a lucky number printed on the top right hand side, with a £100 cash prize up for grabs for whoever matches the number with the draw.

Okehampton Lions Club expressed thanks to all who have supported the them and given their time freely. Everyone is welcome to come along to the event which will be held this Sunday, June 27 at 11am in Simmons Park. The first race starts at 1pm.
