FAR from being a 'haunted park', Courtlands is a happy, vibrant, busy park for all ages. The field has been a playing field for more than 40 years, initially having a dog ban as per the Devon County Council by laws. The installation of purpose built play equipment is a delight, the numbers arriving on foot and by car to play and picnic is great to see and hear. More pleasing, since October 22, is the absence of dog owners letting their dogs off the leash to run where they want, and worse still, foul where they want, occasionally with the owner too busy on their mobile phone to take notice and pick up the mess. We hope that the winter rains will contribute to a natural clean up of the parks, not only for the children but the council workers having to contend with the fouling.
