TAVISTOCK Library celebrated World Book Day 2005 with a week of events for all ages. Thanks to the imagination, skill and dedication of its staff the library buzzed all week with a varied programme. In the case of the African drummers and groups of primary school children it reverberated. Not unreasonably some started readers disturbed by the noise asked what that had to do with books. The simple answer is communication. The children learned how people of other cultures passed messages rapidly across difficult terrain to other villages. Everything from ?here is the news? to ?we are having a party?. We did and it was fun. Sylvia Scott Lockeridge Farm House Bere Alston
