THE Spitfire Weekend? held by the Harrowbeer Interest Group (HIG) and South West Spitfire Society at Knightstone Tea Rooms, Yelverton, enjoyed large crowds and fine weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. Stephen Fryer, HIG member, said the group was delighted by the success of the event. He said: ?We had a great time and everyone enjoyed the displays! The fly-bys? by the Sea Fury each afternoon and the Spitfire on Sunday morning were the icing on the cake! Absolutely terrific! ?People told us yet more about the history of the old airfield and in response to requests, we will be organising some more guided walks during the Autumn.? Stephen said all new information and event programmes will be put on the HIG website in due course.
