A WORKSHOP in Okehampton next week will hear about a bid to secure £4.5-milliom funding for sustainable transport initiatives in the South West's two national parks.
A consortium including Dartmoor and Exmoor National Park Authorities, Devon and Somerset County Councils and the South West Tourism Alliance/Sustainability South West, are working together to secure the bid.
It focuses on visitor transport and seeks to fill gaps in provision to create an enhanced, more integrated means for visitors to explore the parks.
The final bid, if successful, will provide a major boost to the transport options for visitors and communities alike.
The Okehampton workshop will allow people to help shape the future of sustainable transport across both Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks.
After brief presentations on the work to date there will be a chance to give views, gain additional evidence and ideas and to support and influence plans before the bid is finalised.
The workshop is on Tuesday October from 10am to 1pm in the Charter Hall, Market Street, Okehampton and all are welcome.
