WEST Devon bus passengers will soon be trying out a new, state-of-the-art vehicle as a result of a £3-million investment by First Western National.

A smart Volvo B6 midibus — one of 20 new buses bought by the company — will soon be running the regular 83/84 service between Plymouth and Tavistock.

Paul McGowan, managing director of First Western National, said: 'This is a significant part of our strategy of continued investment in bus services in the area which should encourage customer growth and improve customer

satisfaction.'

Phil Hiett, general manager of the company's southern division said the new buses would be more comfortable and provide better visibility for both drivers and passengers.
