PAUL Austin Kelly, the American International Opera Star is to sing with the Ten Tors Orchestra on Saturday, October 30, 7.30pm at St Andrew?s Church, Plymouth.
Mr Kelly will perform Benjamin Britten?s masterpiece for solo tenor and string orchestra of Les Illuminations, a setting of poems by the French poet Rimbaud.
Paul Austin Kelly has sung the most demanding bel canto roles at major opera houses around the world ? including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and New York City Opera.
The Ten Tors Orchestra will premiere a work commissioned by the Peninsula Arts, Triptych for Distributed Strings by the Brazilian composer Eduardo Reck Miranda. The programme will include another contemporary work, Illuminations by Stevie Wishart.
The programme will open with the popular St Paul?s Suite and close with Tchaikovsky?s passionate and rousing Serenade for Strings.
