DOZENS of children took part in the Tavistock and areas inter-schools swimming gala organised by Tavistock Swimming Club, Meadowlands and West Devon Borough Council.
Held at Meadowlands Leisure pool, seven primary schools from the area took part.
The day was organised by Sheila Radgick of Tavistock Swimming Club and Hannah Colston, the sports development officer at West Devon Borough Council.
The most sporting team with the best team spirit on the day was Whitchurch Primary who won the fair play award.
Winner of the large schools section was Tavistock, with St Andrew's coming second and St Peter's third.
In the small schools category, Meavy came first, Milton Abbot second, and Mary Tavy/Brentor third.
The event was a great success due to the excellent work from the Tavistock Swimming Club volunteers.
