THE New Year is always a good time to think about energy saving and the Energy Savers' Eco Fair this month will provide an opportunity to get ideas and inspiration.
The Eco Fair, on January 25, is being hosted by Tavistock College together with Transition Tavistock in the main hall from 10am to 4pm.
The fair coincides with the launch of the college's Solar Schools Campaign on January 23.
Exhibitors signing up for the Eco Fair include New Generation Energy, Devon Action for Renewable Energy (DARE), Mike Wye and Associates (eco-building supplies) and Green Hus (external wall insulation).
Entry is free of charge and includes a programme of practical workshops, including 'Understanding Your Energy Bills and Heating Controls', 'DIY Draught Busting and Secondary Glazing', 'Treatment of Listed and Historical Buildings', 'Introduction to Micro Renewables' and Mike Wye will provide visitors with a chance to have a go at applying thermal render for retrofit.
There will also be a children's area focused on energy saving and practical activities.
