DARTMOOR National Park is planning to replace a customised portable cabin with a purpose-built information centre at Haytor. The authority is applying for planning permission to replace the structure and the nearby public toilets on its own land. The temporary facility has been located at Haytor since 1995 and is on common land adjacent to the existing toilets, which are in need of upgrading. DNP believes the proposed structure will enhance visitor experience, will assist site management generally and will be a considerable environmental improvement compared with the existing provision. The public and organisations are invited to comment. The consultation period runs until April 26. The application can be viewed at http://www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk">www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk
