PUPILS at Lamerton and Gulworthy primary schools showed off their skills at a recent fundraising talent show, in memory of a young boy who died.

The fundraising event, dubbed 'Indi Day 2' the second such fundraising event, raised £500 profit and the schools' PTFA matched the amount making a total of £1,000.

The talent show was very popular with the children with a total of 14 entries, ranging from singing, dancing, roller blading and playing musical instruments.

Wenzday Oakley, a year 4 pupil of Gulworthy Primary School, hosted the event with her dad Steve, providing banter, entertainment and some magic in between acts.

The event was held in memory of her younger brother Indiana Oakley, who died in 2013 at only four months old.

There were refreshments, a raffle and an auction in the interval and organisers expressed thanks to the local businesses and individuals who supported by donating raffle prizes, items for the auction and props and who helped out at the event.

The money raised will be used to purchase much needed IT equipment for the federated Gulworthy and Lamerton primary schools. If anyone would like to make further donations, they can do so by contacting Miss Melody Nicholls at Gulworthy or Lamerton school sites.
