A PETER Tavy accountant has been shortlisted for a prestigious national accountancy award.
Major Bill Lane, 70, is one of only four to be shortlisted for the Accounting Technician of the Year award after proving to judges that he had demonstrated professionalism, imagination and innovation that led to organisational success.
Major Lane, director of South West Charitable Giving (SWCG), said it was a great honour to be shortlisted.
'The formation and development of SWCG is entirely mine, although I have sought advice from many people.

SWCG offers a payroll giving scheme that enables employees to make donations to any charity, church or charitable association such as village halls or local scout groups. It is the fastest growing method of giving to charity.
The awards will be presented on November 7 at the Natural History Museum in London.
