IMPROVEMENT works have now begun at Meadowlands Leisure Centre in Tavistock.

Due for completion in late summer 2018, the new improvements will include a new gym, a new studio for group exercise classes, an improved café and a new wet side changing area.

To allow for refurbishments of the wet change area the centre was closed to the public on Monday (December 4) and will remain closed for two weeks.

During this time old lockers will be removed and a temporary entrance and changing area will put be in place.

Once this has been completed, the pool will re-open on Monday, December 18 using the new temporary entrance to the rear of the building which will lead to the temporary changing space.

The pool, a poolside shower and toilets will be accessible as normal.

The newly refurbished wet change area is expected to open in February.
