AN UNUSUAL and uplifting photograph taken by a member of Tavistock Camera Club caught the eye of television experts on the Alan Titchmarsh Show last month.

Jeremy Rundle's cleverly captured shot of a balloon being burst was selected by the programme to feature in the ITVshow's weekly camera spot.

Jeremy, from Tavistock, was delighted his picture was selected and pleased Alan Titchmarsh and photography experts Paul Goldstein and Hy Money.

He told the Times: 'This photograph of the balloon bursting was filmed at a 20,000th of a second using a £400 flash and £1,800's worth of equipment. Its the sort of idea for a picture that we do at Tavistock Camera Club where we have a lot of fun thinking up different shots.'

The balloon was swung in a pendulum effect and is the end shot in a series of frames.

Jeremy also sent the television show a photograph of a strawberry being dropped in water.

They didn't use his picture but did 'adopt' his idea, as expert Paul Goldstein demonstrated in the studio to capture the effect.

Tavistock Camera Club meet on alternate Wednesday evenings, at the Tavistock United Reformed Church at 7.30pm.

New members are welcome.

The club is currently holding a digital photography course and on March 7 are covering composition followed, on March 21, by downloading.
