SENIOR pupils at Mount House School were joined by parents and staff to hear a fascinating talk given by Katherine Kent, herself a Mount House parent.

The talk, entitled 'Illuminating Tales' was particularly inspirational for the art scholars, as it dealt with Katherine's success as a magazine and book illustrator.

This was the latest in the Oracle lecture series, designed to give the children a closer look at aspects of life they may not normally encounter, and show them the importance of using the opportunities that life presents.

Katherine shared some of her passion for illustration and story writing with the children, giving an intimate insight into her career and her thoughts, based around her current project — an illustrated book called 'The Handmade Horse'.

The pupils were thrilled to be given a sneak preview of the book which had been cleverly set to music.
