AROUND 100 children aged from three to 12 took advantage of the fine weather to join television personality Monty Halls for a free morning of adventure at Mount House School.

Monty Halls has become a household name though his involvement in many televised expeditions and conservation projects, most recently The Fisherman's Apprentice and Great Barrier Reef for BBC Television.

After a brief introduction by headmaster Jim Massey and a presentation and slide show from Monty Halls, the younger children were taken to the pre-prep area.

They spent the morning enjoying a range of activities including parachute games, tag rugby, cooking, and making photo frames and mirrors.

The children aged seven and over went out with Monty Halls to explore in the grounds of Mount House.

Their activities in the woodland and along the banks of the River included choosing the right place to camp, then making camp and barbecuing a chicken.
