IT is not every day that children get the opportunity to see four life-sized bears dance to music, but this Sunday all children joining in with the CHICKS Big Bear Walk will be sure of a big surprise.

CHICKS is holding the Big Bear Walk in Central Park, Plymouth, to raise funds to provide free respite breaks for underprivileged children.

The four big bears include CHICKS' own mascot bear 'Mas', Build a Bear Workshop's 'Beremy', the official firefighters' charity mascot 'Blaze' and Crealy's pink bear 'Honey'. During the mile-long walk, all four bears will be walking around the park alongside the children.

When the walk is finished, children can enjoy the Goldilocks and the three bears puppet theatre, a bouncy castle, fire engine and lots of teddy bear-themed games as well as the opportunity to paint clay teddy bears, provided by Barbican-based Clay Art.

Registration will open on the day (Sunday October 17), so willing walkers should arrive armed with their teddies and visit the area next to the children's play area in Central Park to check in by 10.15am.

The Grand Bears' warm-up will start at 11am with walkers and teddies setting off shortly after.

Registration costs £3 per child and £5 per adult.
