THE recently re-opened Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton will welcome a favourite Dartmoor storyteller for a special children?s holiday event next week.
Using the atmospheric walk-in Bronze Age hut and the museum?s other fascinating displays, Don Newton will enthrall children with tales of the moor. Later, he will lead a Dartmoor mask-making workshop in the museum?s education room. All the children will leave with a mask they have made during the day.
The event will take place at the museum on Saturday, August 28, from 10am to 3pm. It will be suitable for children aged 7 to 12 years old and will cost £2.
Booking is essential: ring the museum on 01837 52295 (there is a 24-hour answerphone) and leave your name and phone number.
On the day, participants will need to bring a packed lunch, but all other materials will be provided.
