IN the July 17 edition of the Times there is a letter about a 'development that is unwanted and unnecessary'. Next to it is another letter saying there are 628 local people registered in West Devon who are in housing need, and a further 905 people on the housing register. Will the 750 new houses to be built off Callington Road suffice? I am also curious to know when the meadow off Anderton lane has flooded. I cannot help thinking it is rather like the Dawlish railway line which suffered from the storm in February. When it was decided to higher the sea wall, some residents in that short area were against it as 'it would spoil their view'. L M Martin Tavistock
