I'D like to say huge thankyou on behalf of the young people, parents and carers at Tavistock Youth Café Plus to all who took part, helped out, sponsored and turned out for the Son-Rise Rise Cup weekend. An even bigger thank you to the organising committee for your endless hard work.

It was heart-warming to see so many people at such a great community event and yet again I am humbled by the support received for our special children.

Youth Café Plus

THE Tavistock and District branch Guide Dogs would like to thank everyone who generously gave money during our annual flag day collections on Saturday April 24 and 25.

The total collected was £711.58. No expenses were deducted and all this money will be used to enable Guide Dogs to continue their valuable work.

THE local Cancer Research UK committee has so many people to thank for the wonderful support we received at our plant sale and coffee morning on Saturday May 8 — all those, who, knowing we might be short-handed, came to help behind stalls or in the kitchen, the gardeners who produced all those plants and came to enjoy a friendly social occasion.

A huge thanks to you all and we hope you will be pleased to learn that over £530 was raised!
