GIDLEIGH Park at Chagford has won this year's coveted 'Top Diner' rated award, after it earned rave reviews from Europe's largest dining community and online restaurant reservation service.
The two Michelin-starred restaurant won its place from toptable.com, after members of the online service announced it the winner of their 2010 Top Restaurant Awards.
Several toptable members agreed they had eaten their best meal ever at Gidleigh Park Restaurant.
Gidleigh Park's executive chef, Michael Caines, said: 'I am delighted that we have been nominated so often in these awards.
'It is always satisfying to receive recognition and praise, but it is particularly gratifying that the impartial views and ratings of toptable users, our diners, have positioned us so highly.'
The toptable Top 100 Restaurant Awards' ten categories are judged entirely on the ratings of the three million diners who booked and dined at one of toptable's 5,000 restaurants during 2009.
Gidleigh Park Restaurant earned a hat trick of prizes and won top place in the categories, which included best for romance, ahead of The Ritz Restaurant in London and the Langshott Manor Hotel's Mulberry Restaurant.
toptable users are invited to rate and review a restaurant only once they have eaten there.
