A WEST Devon hotel business is celebrating, after clinching a top regional title.

Nominated by customers and chosen jointly by the experts at the Shooting Gazette and GunsOnPegs.com, The Arundell Arms hotel and restaurant at Lifton has won the accolade of 'Top Sporting Hotel in the West Country' and has been recognised as one of the top ten sporting hotels in the country.

The Shooting Gazette says: 'The hotels in the top 10 have made an outstanding effort to look after shooters or benefit from outstanding surroundings — or both!

'Places like The Arundell Arms have made their reputation on the way they look after sportsmen and women.'

Arundell Arms managing director Adam Fox-Edwards said: 'We're thrilled to have been awarded this accolade, particularly as one of the primary criteria for the award was customer nomination.

'This reflects the consistency of the great service and customer care delivered by our fantastic team.

'It's well known that tourism, in all its aspects, is vitally important to the West Country economy, so it's great that this recognition reflects well, not just on ourselves but on tourism in our region.'

As well as award-winning food and a genuinely friendly welcome, The Arundell Arms offers a wide range of country sports including 20 miles of private fly fishing on the River Tamar and its tributaries.

Driven and walked-up pheasant, woodcock and snipe shooting, exhilarating hunting and leisure horse-riding are also available.
