IN this friendly for the Clive White Cup North Tawton took to the field with a mixture of first and second team players.
They started well and pressurised Crediton into many mistakes. It was justice when after five penalties to North Tawton Crediton were adjudged offside on each occasion and the home side were awarded a penalty try under the post.
But North Tawton slowly allowed Crediton back into the game. They were duly awarded a penalty which they took to leave the score at half-time 7-3 to North Tawton.
The second half was all Crediton with North Tawton making the occasional foray forward.
It was unfortunate that it was during North Tawton's rare incursions into the Visitors half that Crediton's full back broke free to feed the wing for an excellent try in the corner. Crediton responded within minutes to slot a penalty to take the game.
l North Tawton Seconds were unable to raise a side against Crediton Thirds, a great disappointment to all.
l North Tawton are at home to OPOs in the league this Saturday while the Seconds are away to OPOs, kick-off 2.30pm.
