THE price-winning hostas which have put Sticklepath on the map were among the awards again at the recent Royal Horticultural Show at Torquay, where they were awarded a silver medal.
The was the first show since Roger and Ann Bowden passed the retail side of the business on to their daughter and son-in-law.
Ruth Bowden and Tim Penrose have taken on the hugely successful business, and although Roger and Ann have retired after 25 years selling the plants they are still very much involved in the garden itself.
The Bowden's garden at Cleave House, Sticklepath, is open this weekend under the National Garden Scheme. The gardens will be open on Saturday (April 24) and Sunday (April 25) between 10am-5pm. Cream teas will be available.
The prize-winning hostas will again be exhibited in a garden show at Malvern next week.
