Ordulph Arms 2

Plymouth University B 1

Ordulph Arms appeared not to have 'turned up' for the opening 20 minutes, failing to get any control of the game and getting all the basics wrong as the University side were the more determined.

The home side went behind after a scrappy goal from the visitors. Ordulph started to get more involved in the game and James Phillpotts must have thought he'd equalised only for his superb volley to be expertly tipped away by the University keeper for a corner. However, Ben Stephens did get the equaliser by chasing Phillpotts' through ball and his determination put the home side level. Ordulph almost went ahead when Gliddon's cross was powerfully met by Phillpotts but his header was tipped onto the bar — another top class save by the keeper.

Ordulph began the second half much better. Aggis had a header well saved again by the keeper, who moments later made a wonderful save from Phillpotts — tipping his header round the post at full stretch.

Paul Hoskin finally got the decisive goal after Stephens played him in and he coolly placed the ball round the keeper.

Substitute Dan Behennah thought he added a third, but it was ruled out for offside. Ordulph saw out the game to keep the pressure on their rivals in their pursuit for promotion.
