Duchy League 4 East
Bodmin Town 1
Lamerton 4
LAMERTON were forced to ring the changes with half a dozen players unavailable. Consequently it took time to settle down and the first half ended goalless with Bodmin having slightly the better play.
Lamerton broke the deadlock early in the second half when Andrew Williams broke clear, beat two men and crossed for Sean Cann to roll in.
The key goal came ten minutes later when Richard Horn broke through and despite efforts to bring him down, walked the ball past the keeper.
Lamerton visibly relaxed and the quality of play improved as Will Cann dropped back to fill in gaps in the midfield.
Man of the match Sean Cann laid on a square ball for Paul Breyley to score with a screamer from outside the area, then slotted in a second to complete the scoring for the visitors.
With minutes to go Bodmin gained a penalty which was converted by Shane Hearn, denying stand-in keeper Jimmy Cole a clean sheet.
A much needed victory with special credit to Kev Wilcox who stepped in at the last minute for his season's debut and did a fine job at left back.
This Saturday St Stephens Borough away.
