THE Horn of Plenty Country House Hotel and Restaurant at Gulworthy has been named as Devon Restaurant of the Year, according to the Good Food Guide 2007 ? now in its 55th edition and published by Which? A review in the guide states: ?A welcoming blend of unpretentious hospitality and professionalism provide the setting for Peter Gorton?s cooking, which eschews modern spareness without resorting to over-garnished fussiness. ?These are dishes that are meticulously made, full of interesting juxtapositions, with flavour balances spot-on.? The Horn of Plenty?s success and recognition continues to go from strength to strength and this accolade is the latest to add to an impressive list of awards, including a Michelin Star for the past nine years and three AA rosettes since 1991. It is also an Egon Ronay Top 200 Hotel. The hotel is also licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies and is a popular choice for business conferences and meetings.
