ORGANISERS of a community composting group for South Tawton and South Zeal are attempting to set up a garden waste disposal scheme in the parish and are asking for ideas and reactions from local residents.
A similar scheme was established in Chagford several years ago and proved so successful that it now employs local people and sells its end product.
A survey is now being conducted throughout the South Tawton parish which asks those with gardens whether they compost their garden waste or dispose of it in some other way.
The aim is find a site for composting and other recycling activities so the scheme can get under way in the community.
