Kelly Prep was visited by Richard Box. who is a painter and embroiderer, art historian, author, teacher and lecturer. He lectures and gives workshops nationally to groups such as the Embroiderers' Guild and NADFAS — National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Society.
He gave inspiring illustrated talks about the effect of colour and line shape to pupils from Years 1 to 6. led workshops for Years 3 to 6 then gave a smaller scale demonstration of his textile working method to the after-school drawing club.
The pupils created group collages of paper and cloth which used colour in an abstract design to convey a given mood.
