TAVISTOCK Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club held their annual tournament on Sunday, which 20 teams from bowling clubs in Devon and Cornwall attended (see picture).

TAVISTOCK Sir Francis Drake Bowls Club combined with Plymouth Sir Francis Drake Bowls Club and played the City of Plymouth, which consisted of several clubs from the Plymouth area, for the Golden Hind Trophy.

The Sir Francis Drake teams ran out eventual winners 115-83.

This is an annual event which has been staged since 2000. The Sir Francis Drake teams have now won it three years in succession and lead 6-5  overall during the period 2000-2011.
