OKEHAMPTON Library will again be offering a wide range of activities for children during the summer holidays this year with a carnival theme running through.
Children between the ages of 4 and 11 are being encouraged to take part in a reading carnival by popping into the library, picking up an invitation and a library book.
When the book is returned they will receive a reading record card with an illustration from a popular picture book — when they have collected all six cards they will be presented with a certificate and medal.
There will be craft activities which include making carnival masks and dancing dragons and many other sessions but places are limited so call in and collect a ticket from the library. A small charge of 50p is made for each activity.
There will be a special offer on videos for hire between August 5 and 18 and story tapes are also available to hire for 40p.
Storytimes for pre-school children will continue throughout the summer holidays on Friday afternoons at 2pm.
