BRAVE volunteers from the Tavistock branch of Lloyds TSB will be putting mind over matter for charity next month, when they attempt a daring walk over blazing hot coals.

The seven members of staff — Nicky Summersby, Denise Beasley, Lyn Swift, Claire Palmer, Will Inman, Tresca Pascoe and Peter Brookes — will be given two hours' training before they attempt the 20ft walk over red hot coals, which takes place at the Citadel in Plymouth on Friday November 21.

They will be joined by members of staff from Lloyds TSB branches throughout the city for the firewalk.

Each volunteer needs to raise £100 in sponsor money to attempt the walk, with proceeds going to St Luke's Hospice.

The event takes place at 7pm and other entertainments include a bouncy castle, a jester, samba band, music, fireworks and a disco and bar. Tickets for the event, to include food, cost £10 for adults, £5 for children, with the profits going to St Luke's.

Anyone who would like to sponsor the bank staff, or who would like passes to the event, should pop in to Lloyds TSB in Tavistock.
