AN APPEAL was this week issued by the new Children's Hospice South West charity shop in Tavistock, which has proved such a success that more volunteers are urgently being sought to keep up with demand.

Sharon Elliott, retail manager for Children's Hospice South West is delighted with the shop's success.

Sharon said: 'The shop has been really busy and hugely successful since the opening seven weeks ago.  In fact, it has quickly become our best performing CHSW shop!  Local people have been fantastic — it really has exceeded all of our expectations.'

Shop manager Sarah Taylor is calling on local people, of all ages, to offer their support by helping at the charity shop on West Street.

The shop, at 11 West Street, Tavistock, is open 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday and requires assistance from volunteers at all times.  Volunteers, who should be 16 or more, who can give half days or full days of their time are particularly sought.

For further information call Sarah Taylor on 01822 614 888, or pop into the shop at 11 West Street Tavistock.

Donations of goods are also always welcome — small pieces of furniture, clothes, toys, electrical goods, CD and DVDs, and bric-a-brac are all gratefully received.
