SWITCH on to cheaper energy ? that is the invitation from Okehampton Age Concern.

The charity has joined Powergen to provide not only cheaper energy but a complete user-friendly package.

Senior citizens are invited to bring their gas and electricity bills to the Age Concern office in Crediton Road, Okehampton on Tuesday, January 21 between 9.30am and 2pm. Here they will receive a no obligation quotation and a free low energy light bulb.

Information will also be available on the complete range of Age Concern insurances and also the Age Concern Aid Call personal alarm system.

Chief officer of Age Concern, Barrie Duke said it was hoped the day would be able to help some of the local people compare the cost of their heating bills ?and if possible, save them money?.

?With Age Concern linked to Powergen you have the confidence that the process is easy and, if someone changed over, they could always switch back again if they didn?t like it. We are not trying to pressurise anyone into anything,? he said.
