OLIVIA Miller, aged 9, from Bere Alston had seven inches cut off her hair on June 3 for The Little Princess Trust.

The cut was done by Georgia Rolls at No.12 Salon in Bere Alston.

A SEVEN-year-old West Devon girl, who had been growing her hair for five years, has had a drastic cut to donate her hair to children with cancer.

Rebecca Alagna decided she wanted to do something to help others after the death of her godmother Caroline Goldring two years ago from cancer, so she decided that she would cut off her own hair for the Little Princess Trust, to help other children.

The Little Princess Trust is a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and since 2006 has helped thousands of children by supplying real hair wigs to get through the trauma of losing their own.

Each wig costs between £350 and £500 to make and only last one year.

Rebecca, who had been growing her hair for five years, and her mum Clementina both had their long hair cut off at Rachel’s Hair Salon in Tavistock and along with their hair, Rebecca also raised £400 for the charity.

Anyone who would like to support Rebecca in her fundraising can do so online by visiting www.justgiving.com/
