A LITHUANIAN man who moved to Okehampton in January has been praised for his ?consistently exemplary attitude to work?. Laimonas Sileika was given a special award by Concept Staffing in Okehampton as the company celebrated National Temporary Workers? Week earlier this month with local employers and their temps. Each branch of Concept Staffing presented one of their outstanding temps with a ?One in a Million? award. Laimonas has been working for Concept Staffing for six months in various temporary positions. Branch manager Deborah Voaden said: ?Laimonas is a real pleasure to employ. He is very willing to work and extremely reliable. ?Since coming to Okehampton from Lithuania in January we have seen his English improve considerably. ?Laimonas is always smiling and cheers us up whenever he visits the office and is extremely polite and courteous. I have often called him at short notice and he has been to work within minutes.? Laimonas was presented with Concept Staffing?s One in a Million Shield at a celebration at the branch at the end of National Temporary Workers? Week on June 9. The aim of the nation-wide initiative was to promote the value of the temporary workforce and to thank all those choosing the ?flexible employment? route. During the week, every new candidate that registered at Concept Staffing was offered the chance to be entered into a prize draw, which was drawn at the end of the week. Prizes were donated by local employers. Maria Smith, managing director of Concept Staffing said: ?As well as demonstrating the business benefits of using temporary workers, it is an ideal time to thank our extensive temporary workforce for their work throughout the year. It?s also a perfect opportunity to celebrate our close working relationships with local employers.?
