DARTMOOR Rescue Group?s northern section received a splendid cash boost this week thanks to a tourism company based in Chagford.

Helpful Holidays handed over a cheque for £481 to the group at a special presentation on Monday.

Moray Bowater, of Helpful Holidays, said: ?Every year we invite holiday-makers to make a contribution to a local charity when booking their holiday. In the past we have helped Devon Air Ambulance and this year we are supporting Farms for City Kids.

Mr Bowater said although Helpful Holidays deals with properties all over the West Country, being based at Chagford meant Dartmoor Rescue Group was a charity particularly close to the company?s heart.

The donations were matched by Helpful Holidays, giving the DRG a boost of almost £1,000.
