Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) is inviting people to help shape the future of the park by contributing views via an online questionnaire.

The DNPA is seeking views on what people love about Dartmoor, what the most important issues facing the moor are, and what people think needs to be done to address these issues, to help inform the review of the Dartmoor National Park Management Plan.

The management plan is the single most important document for the national park. It is a strategic plan for the park as a whole, setting the vision for the next 20 years. It provides the over-arching framework for management of the national park, co-ordinating and integrating other plans, strategies and actions.

The current management plan runs until the end of 2012, and although it has been successful in completing 90% of the actions identified, it now needs to be updated to reflect the latest issues and challenges facing Dartmoor.

The views will help to inform the priorities for action and partnership working on Dartmoor over the next five years.

The management plan is not just for the DNPA, although the authority along with many other stakeholders and the local community will be key to the delivery of the plan. It is a plan for all who care about Dartmoor, ensuring the park retains its distinctive character as a beautiful, living and working landscape, enjoyed by residents and by the millions that visit the area.
